Creative Play Workshop 1 - Thursday 2nd October (10am-12pm)

NEW FORMAT - Abstract Acrylic Painting

Children will create a bold and colourful abstract painting using acrylic paint and Posca pens. This 2-hour guided session (10am–12pm) will encourage them to explore shapes, colour, and pattern while developing their own unique artistic style. Session limited to 15 children.

Creative Play Workshop 2 - Thursday 2nd October (1pm-3pm)

NEW FORMAT - Acrylic Stained Glass Windows

Children will explore colour mixing while creating stained glass–inspired artworks with acrylic paint. In this 2-hour guided session, they will experiment with blending shades to design bold, geometric window-style paintings. Session limited to 15 children.

Creative Play Workshop 3 - Friday 3rd October (1pm-3pm)

Main Craft: Block Printed Cotton Bags

Children will design their own reusable cotton tote bag by printing with acrylic paint and wooden blocks. They will explore patterns, textures, and bold colours to create a one-of-a-kind, functional artwork to take home.

Collaborative Painting: Lantern Creations

The group will transform paper lanterns into glowing works of art using vibrant watercolours. Once decorated, the lanterns will be suspended, creating a joyful shared installation full of colour and light.

Paper Plate Bowl Weaving

Using a simple paper plate as a loom, children will weave colourful yarns into sturdy little bowls. This activity introduces weaving techniques in a fun and achievable way, resulting in bright, textured vessels to take home.

Kandinsky Inspired Circle Paintings

Inspired by the artist Wassily Kandinsky, children will use paint sticks to explore colour, shape, and pattern while layering concentric circles. This process celebrates bold design and playful mark-making, producing lively abstract artworks.

Beaded Bracelets

Children will learn basic beading techniques while making their own wearable art. With a wide variety of colourful beads to choose from, each bracelet will be unique and reflect the child’s creativity and style.

Rainbow Oil Pastel and Watercolour Resist

Children will experiment with oil pastels and watercolours to discover the magic of resist painting. By layering rainbows and shapes in pastel, then washing colour over the top, hidden designs are revealed in striking, colourful artworks.

Collaborative Weaving on a Giant Loom

Working together, children will weave strips of fabric and yarn onto a large hula-hoop loom. This oversized community artwork grows as each child adds their part, creating a vibrant woven circle that symbolises teamwork and creativity.

Free Art and Craft Table

An open-ended space for imagination. Children can choose from paper, markers, coloured pencils, pipe cleaners, and other materials to make whatever they dream up. This station encourages choice, creativity, and self-expression.

Creative Play Workshop 4 - Thursday 9th October (1pm-3pm)

Main Craft: Painted Plywood Circles

Children will transform plain plywood circles into stunning works of art using acrylic paint. They can explore bold patterns, landscapes, or abstract designs, creating vibrant wall hangings to proudly display at home.

Collaborative Craft: Painting on Suspended Shapes

Children will use acrylic paint to decorate shapes wrapped in cling film and suspended in the air. This unique activity is both creative and scientific, letting children experiment with colour and brushstrokes on a see-through surface that feels almost magical.

Paper Plate Crown Collage

Using paper plates cut into crown shapes, children will decorate their own wearable art pieces. They’ll layer coloured paper, shapes, and textures with glue to design a crown that’s as individual as they are.

Paper Weaving

Children will explore weaving techniques using strips of colourful paper. By overlapping, underlapping, and building patterns, they will create bright, textured artworks that strengthen fine motor skills and creativity.

Foil Wrapped Yarn Shapes

Cardboard shapes will be wrapped in yarn, then covered with shiny foil and coloured in. The process reveals striking, textured designs with both tactile and visual appeal, turning simple materials into beautiful keepsakes.

Dot Painting on Black Paper

Children will experiment with dot painting on black card, using tools and paint to create intricate designs. The bold dots of colour stand out vividly against the dark background, making each artwork feel rich and striking.

Collaborative Weaving on a Giant Loom

Working together, children will weave strips of fabric and yarn onto a large hula-hoop loom. This oversized community artwork grows as each child adds their part, creating a vibrant woven circle that symbolises teamwork and creativity.
